Evolution of a kdb+ message router

A proof-of-concept kdb+ load balancer started in Erlang nine years ago has since grown into hundreds of deployed instances handling billions of daily messages, with a 400+ kB codebase that includes plugins written in kdb+. This talk covers the achievements, the technical challenges encountered along the way, and the alternatives that were considered.
